Service Description

This appointment is for owners looking for help with a behaviour problem they're experiencing with their equine. An initial consultation will be held face-to-face at the client's home/yard lasting approximately 2 hours (please leave leeway as timing can depend heavily on the type of problem and animal). Prior to the initial consultation, clients are required to fill out a preliminary history form. This will cover all appropriate background information of the animal and the problem - saving LOADS of time during the consultation! During the initial behavior consultation, our experienced and certified animal behaviourist will: Assess Behaviour: Our expert will carefully observe and assess your pet's behaviour in various contexts. This includes interactions with potential triggers to observe the issues at hand. Establish Goals: Based on the gathered information and assessments, we'll work with you to establish clear and realistic behaviour goals. Educate and Train: We believe in empowering pet owners with knowledge. Your behaviourist will take the time to educate you on the principles of animal behaviour, explaining the differential diagnoses behind displayed behaviours and discuss the proposed training techniques and any modifications needed for your lifestyle. Following this, the consultation will include an initial training session, putting those techniques into action. Customised Training Regime: Following the assessment, the behaviourist will go away and produce a personalised behaviour modification plan tailored to your pet's problem with an ideal training method. This will include a report on the initial consultation and a detailed set of instructions for further training that the client should continue at home to carry on improvements. The client may request a singular or regular top-up sessions, if they feel more confident with continuous support. Or the behaviourist may suggest these are necessary. All top-up sessions are given at a discounted rate. These are to be booked separately from and following the initial consultation. Please note that there is a 50p charge for every mile your behaviourist will travel outside of a 15 mile radius of Cantley, Norfolk.
